5/28/2012: Reds 1, Pirates 4

I caught this one on the radio in the car, so I didn’t see any of it.  That said, it seemed pretty clear that Bronson Arroyo didn’t have his best stuff or command today.  Even though it came off of a bad pitcher on a bad day, the Pirates offense showed encouraging signs.  There were multiple times where I found myself pleased that a batter was working the count and making Arroyo work, Pedro Alvarez hit the ball hard a number of times, and they didn’t make a bad pitcher look good, for once.  James McDonald was, of course, brilliant.
